The WHS Immediate Office Staff is to cultivate superior and collaborative service delivery through a culture of integrity, excellence, and respect.
WHS Immediate Office Staff enables effective synchronization, integration, and coordination of Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) activities, enhances process improvement focus on areas of importance to the WHS Director and Leadership Council, and improves existing WHS provided services. The organization provides an enterprise level resource for WHS policy, analysis, communications, manpower, and operational services, all aimed to ensure program level activities remain focused on the WHS mission.
As the analyst and integrator across the Office of Chief Management Officer (OCMO) Director of Administration (DA)/WHS enterprise, the WHS Immediate Office and Staff delivers a portfolio of operational and governance capabilities needed to create, sustain, and continuously improve performance standards for quality, timeliness, cost reduction, and service delivery excellence.
Serves as the corporate integrator of WHS and establishes the framework for bridging functional gaps among WHS directorates to secure mission accomplishment and achieve strategic goals across the Office of the Director of Administration and Management. WHS Immediate Office and Staff provides administrative, financial, and logistical support to Director of Administration (DA) assigned Boards, Commissions, and Task Forces. WHS Immediate Office Staff recently led the Strategic Planning Initiative for WHS and DA, and took responsibility for the consolidation and implementation of the DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facilities (DoD CAF), supporting eligibility for security clearances for DoD personnel, industry personnel, and Congressional and other staffs.
Through program initiatives and quality of work-life programs, WHS Immediate Office Staff provides essential services, programs, and resources including:
Boards Commissions & Task Forces (BCTFs): WHS Immediate Office Staff currently supports nine boards, commissions, and task forces to address specific issues related to DoD capabilities and issues in various subject matters. These outreach efforts are essential for ensuring that complex matters are examined thoroughly and comprehensively, with full engagement of experts, stakeholders, and the public.
WHS Security Program: Provides essential security services to its customers: OCMO, WHS, BCTFs, and miscellaneous activities. Security services are multi-disciplinary and focus on safeguarding DoD information, personnel, and facilities.
Equal Employment Opportunity Program: The Department of Defense is firmly committed to developing and sustaining a culture and fostering an environment where diversity is valued and leveraged, all employees are treated with dignity and respect, and have equal access to opportunity. Moreover, our leaders are called to embrace a workforce that is reflective of our nation as a whole. The pursuit of diversity in the workforce can best be advanced by a combination of knowledge and actions. It starts with commitment from top management coupled with a diligent desire from the total workforce. EEOP has developed an aggressive training program with an emphasis on empowering all personnel to create and implement actions that will contribute to an inclusive work environment. Practicing inclusive management creates a high performing work environment where all employees become optimal contributors to the objectives that directly support the Department's mission. EEOP's program incorporates strategic workforce analysis, evaluation of policies, practices, and procedures that may benefit or hinder diversity and inclusion efforts, and the creation of action plans consistent with the development of a model EEO, diversity and inclusion environment.
