WHS maintains the Pentagon, the world's largest low-rise office building.

WHS is responsible for maintaining the Pentagon Reservation, spanning 280 acres and more than 16.5 million square feet of interior space.

WHS screens and sorts more than 1.2 million pieces of mail sent to the Pentagon monthly.

WHS led the renovation of the Pentagon, a total of 6,500,000 square feet.

WHS serves customers working in approximately 100 DoD occupied buildings in the National Capital Region, including the Pentagon.

WHS was established as a DoD Field Activity on October 1, 1977, as part of a DoD headquarters streamlining initiative.

WHS led the stand-up of the Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility in 2012.

WHS is responsible for maintaining the Pentagon's 16,250 light fixtures and 284 bathrooms.
