The Metrorail system is the best method of transportation to the Pentagon. Parking around the Pentagon is limited, and traffic can be very heavy in the DC area.

Metrorail

The Washington DC Metro is the easiest way to access the Pentagon Memorial. Both the Blue and Yellow lines run to the Pentagon. Using those lines, exit at the Pentagon stop and follow the signs to the Memorial Gateway (Path shown in red on diagram below).

For more information on planning your Metro trip, visit the official website:

Parking

Private Vehicles: Weekdays & Weekends

Parking on the Pentagon Reservation is for AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY, however, parking is available to Pentagon Memorial visitors at the Hayes Street Parking Lot ONLY on weekdays from 5pm – 7am and all day (until 7am the following business day) on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays (NOTE: OVERNIGHT PARKING IS PROHIBITED). There is a pedestrian tunnel under I-395, that can be seen on the diagram  below, that leads to the Pentagon from the Hayes Street Lot. After exiting the tunnel, follow signs to the Memorial Gateway. You may also park in the parking lot for the Pentagon City mall, which is directly across the street from the Hayes Street Lot.

On-street/garage parking may be available in some areas outside of the

Pentagon Reservation. Regular fees may apply.

Taxis and Drop-Offs:

Visitors are permitted to drop-off passengers at the Pentagon Memorial. However, drivers may not wait in the parking lot. Drivers may use North Rotary Road to make drop-offs at the specified drop-off zones.

Bus:

Tour buses are only permitted to stage and unload at the east end of South Parking, with five parking spots available for buses alongside the sidewalk adjacent to lanes 28-30. Buses will not be permitted to exit or drop-off passengers using N. Rotary Rd. Drivers must stay with buses at all times. Follow the pedestrian walkway across the parking lot, then follow signs to the Memorial Gateway (just over a 1/2 mile walk). During rush hour, the parking zones will be heavily congested. Expect long delays.

In the event of a security issue, the Pentagon Reservation, including its parking lots may be locked down without notice for an extended period of time adding long delays to arrivals and departures.

Parking for People with Disabilities:

The Pentagon Memorial is accessible to those with disabilities with parking available in Pentagon South Parking 24 hours each day.
