All of the interior demolition on Wing 2 is complete. Demolition of the outside shell has begun, and is anticipated to be complete by mid to late February 2013.

Only the headhouse of the Navy Annex building remains where Wing 1 stood. Demolition work on Wing 1 was completed in January 2013.

December 2012

Construction personnel have been working on the Navy Annex site since late September 2012, conducting abatement projects and removing hazardous materials prior to the demolition. These photos provide a view of interior sections of the Navy Annex property.

A Headquarters of the Marine Corps directory sign serves as an enduring testament to the Navy Annex's place in Department of Defense history. The building was constructed in 1941 as a warehouse at a time when the U.S. was rearming for World War II. The Navy Annex instead served as the Headquarters of the Marine Corps and a workplace for many Marine Corps and Navy personnel throughout its history.

In October 2012, Corinthian Contractors, Inc. and DSI took control of the Navy Annex property from the Government. Shown here is the excavator used to begin the demolition process.
