Pentagon Blood Drive

Welcome to the Pentagon Blood donation web page.

Due to ongoing construction on the Pentagon Concourse, large blood drives have been temporarily discontinued.  Individuals wishing to donate blood may contact 703-692-8831.

Please continue to support this worthwhile cause! Remember, the life you save, may be your very own!

Here are a few good reasons to donate blood:

  • Every 17 seconds someone in our community will need blood.
  • Ninety-five percent of our community will use a blood product in their lifetime but only five percent of us actually donate blood.
  • A unit of whole blood from a single donor can be separated into components and used to save three or more lives.
  • A single shock trauma victim can use 100 units of blood in a few hours. In a single day a patient needing a liver transplant can require 200 units of blood products.
  • Twenty-five percent of all blood products are used for cancer patients.

Federal employees have always stepped forward to help others when given the opportunity. Giving blood is truly a gift of life and an opportunity for us in government to set a personal example for the nation.

Remember, together we can save lives!
