Student Summer Contract Program (SSCP)This program provides students a 10-week summer work experience to work as a contractor in assigned OSD organizations related to their academic course of study. Full time summer job opportunities are available for a wide variety of positions. OSD/WHS works with private sector contractors who recruit, hire, and place students in more than 54 different OSD offices and agencies. These summer positions are in the Washington, DC area and last for 10-12 weeks. The positions are identified either as internships, which provide substantive work experience in your academic field of study, or as administrative/clerical in nature. Note: If you are employed under this program, you’ll be an employee of a contractor who was awarded this contract and not the Federal Government. Eligibility The criteria for these programs are determined by the private sector contractors who are the employers. They fill the positions to meet the needs of our customers. To qualify for consideration in the SSCP, you must be a bona fide student pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university. How to Apply To obtain a student position with OSD/WHS, you must apply directly to the private sector contractor(s) responsible for management of the SSCP. Applications are generally accepted by the contractors for summer contract positions from mid-December through the end of February.
