Security Policy and Clearance Appeals Office
- Represents Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) and the Defense Agencies on departmental and interagency working groups dealing with personnel security issues and the formulation of personnel security policies and procedures.
- Coordinates personnel security policy/program development and advises managers, supervisors, and employees within the Office of the secretary of Defense (OSD), the Defense Agencies, and the DoD Field Activities.
- Leads WHS coordination on personnel security policy regulations, initiatives, etc.
- Serves as the President of the OSD Clearance Appeals Board managing board policy and operations involving appeals of unfavorable determinations by the WHS Consolidated Adjudications Facility.
Note: To maintain an impartial and objective appeal process and to appropriately protect sensitive personal information falling under the purview of the Privacy Act, the Clearance Appeal Office will not communicate directly with individuals regarding case status. Individuals should address these issues through their local security office.
