| DUE TO IMPENDING WEATHER CONDITIONS THE PENTAGON DAILY TRANSIT OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED A 11:00 ON FEBRUARY 5TH, 2010. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. |
FARE INCREASE: Please note that in regards to WMATA's (metro) recently announced fare increase, as the increase does not take effect until at least March 1st, in order for the program office and for reviewing officials to accurately review and approve any MTBP submissions, applications for the new rate CANNOT be submitted prior to that date. Please note that any such submissions will be returned to the applicant.
|
Fare Cards: Please note that as our service provider depleted their supply of the SVC’s in a earlier timeframe than was initially anticipated, we will now be issuing fare cards. The denominations issued will be $1, $5, $10, and $30. Those participants who ride those modes of transit that are compatible with the SmarTrip card can now expect to receive these fare cards at their quarterly distribution. Fare cards may be loaded directly onto your SmarTrip card, in the same fashion as the former metro check. Please note that USED farecards must have a value of $7 or less in order to be loaded onto the SmarTrip card.
SmartBenefit Vouchers: Smart Benefit vouchers will be distributed to all participants who utilize forms of transportation that are not compatible with the SmarTrip technology such as the VRE, MARC, Dillon, Keller, and Erye buses, etc.
TranBen Vouchers: Tranben Vouchers will be provided to those applicants who ride vanpools and who ride the Quicks bus lines. |
SMARTBENEFITS:
The Department of Defense is currently implementing SmartBenefits with a few select civilian defense components. Transit Benefits will continue to be handed out to those DOD members who are not yet onboard with SmartBenefits.
All excess unused metro checks, SVCs, TranBen, farecards, or any other unused form of fare media MUST be turned into, or mailed to, the WHS program office as soon as possible. |
